My first attempt at a photoshoot - over a day and a night was pretty nerve-wracking but I'm happy with the first results out of the workflow. Like all photographs I look at sometimes I can think of things that would have worked better - I'll know better for next time. Interestingly as we "worked" the presence of people became a bit of a distraction and the weather worsened and it became a distraction too.
Having said that in the quiet corners where we found most time and opportunities for creativity - it was super to work with someone who was willing to try new things and make suggestions. I do want to try more of this and have already got ideas of more and better.
Despite the 500 odd photos, there were more that could have been taken and one lesson I have learnt is that one photo is never enough. In the final set from the three I'm editing (these are a select from the first of those) I hope I'll have ten which all the elements come together.
Thanks go to Lou Missen and the gods who provided us with bright sunshine, dramatic cloudscapes and sufficient canniness to know when to go for a drink to avoid a soaking.
